Psychiatric Services & Telepsychiatry

At Gosnold, we know a successful recovery does not end with the completion of a treatment plan; we offer ongoing recovery support for our patients and their families.  We are committed to the community and provide family education, school-based counseling, medical care integration, and support prevention coalitions.

Medication Management

Medication can be an important component of treating a variety of psychiatric disorders including mood disorders, anxiety and ADHD.  In order to build a personalized treatment plan, Gosnold’s psychiatric providers will conduct a comprehensive evaluation of each patient, taking into consideration all medical conditions as well as their lifestyle and life situation.  Prior to prescribing any medication, our treatment team will discuss the benefits of medication with the patient as well as the possible risks and side effects so that an informed decision can be made.  Each patient is part of a treatment team with ongoing communication between the patient’s therapist and medication provider.  Through careful monitoring and therapy, we find the right medication and treatment plan to improve each patient’s mental health.

Telepsychiatry

All of Gosnold’s outpatient clinics are equipped with ultra-high resolution tele-medicine units that connect patients to psychiatric practitioners at other locations.  This technology enables the patient and doctor to communicate in a direct face-to-face consultation via video conference.  Psychiatric services that can be delivered through the tele-medicine units include medication management/monitoring, diagnostic evaluations, adolescent and adult psychiatry, and individual consultations.
