This past weekend, Gosnold employees, alumni, and community supporters gathered at Falmouth Heights Beach for the 2023 Freezin’ for a Reason Gosnold Annual Polar Plunge. It was a beautiful but slightly windy day at The Heights, with the air temperature around 40 degrees and the water temperature just under 40 degrees. This year, we had a total of 35 plungers, whose combined fundraising efforts raised $20,600 for Gosnold’s vital programs and services.
Every year, Kevin Rosario, Director of Community Outreach at Gosnold and Kevin Mikolazyk, a Gosnold Alumni, challenge each other to a friendly fundraising competition. This year, Mikolazyk led “The Chosen Ones” Team, which raised $9,200, and Rosario led the “Recovery is Possible” team, which raised $9,045. However, Kevin Rosario did come in #1 in fundraising, raising $5,220 individually.
Our top 10 fundraisers this year were: Kevin Rosario, Kevin Mikolazyk, Rebecca Helman, Jordan Tofalo, Jen Breeds, Brandon Greenwood, Jeanette Bood, Sara Anton, Jonathan wood, and Rachel Thuillier.
After the plunge, we headed over to the Falmouth Yacht Club for a ‘warm up’ event with food and fellowship, and awarded the top fundraisers with prizes.
Thank you to all of our plungers and donors for supporting such an amazing event. Thank you Nauset Disposal for providing restroom facilities on site and to the Falmouth Yacht Club for hosting the wonderful warm up event after the plunge.
